Twenty years wrenching on heavy iron taught us a thing or two. Here's where rubber meets road.
Look, we ain't gonna sugarcoat it - working on heavy-duty trucks is dirty, challenging work. But that's exactly what gets us outta bed every morning. We've torn down more engines than we can count, and every single one taught us something new. Below you'll find what we're actually good at, no fluff.
Getting back to basics, one piston at a time
We've done hundreds of these - from seized Detroit Diesels to blown Cat motors. Every rebuild starts with a thorough tear-down inspection 'cause you never really know what you're dealing with until parts are on the bench. We measure everything twice, replace what needs replacing (not just what looks bad), and reassemble with proper torque specs. Boring, honing, valve jobs, crank grinding - we either do it in-house or work with machinists we've trusted for decades. Your motor leaves here like it should've left the factory.
More ponies, better flow
Factory exhausts are built for cost, not performance. We design and fabricate custom systems that actually breathe - bigger diameter tubing, proper mandrel bends, high-flow mufflers if you want 'em. We've also installed more turbos and superchargers than most shops see in a lifetime. Cold air intakes, intercooler upgrades, tuners and programmers - we know what works together and what's just marketing BS. Fair warning though: more power means other stuff needs attention too, and we'll tell ya straight up what that is.
Getting power where it's supposed to go
Transmission problems don't fix themselves - they just get more expensive. Whether it's slipping gears, hard shifts, or complete failure, we can handle it. We rebuild Allisons, Eaton Fullers, and most other heavy-duty transmissions right here. Sometimes a rebuild makes sense, sometimes you need a replacement unit. We'll diagnose it honestly and give you options with real numbers. Clutch work too - we've replaced everything from single-disc setups to twin-disc racing clutches. Road test before and after because that's just how it should be done.
Fighting the Ontario winter, one frame at a time
Canadian winters are brutal on frames and undercarriages. We see trucks that look decent topside but are rotting away underneath. Our rust removal process starts with media blasting or wire wheeling down to bare metal - no shortcuts. Surface rust we can handle easy, but if there's structural damage, we'll weld in new metal properly. Then comes the protection: oil-based undercoating that actually penetrates and displaces moisture. We also do cavity wax injections in box sections and frame rails. It's messy work but it'll add years to your truck's life. Come back every couple years for reapplication and you're golden.
Keeping ya level and stopping when it matters
Heavy trucks beat the hell outta suspension components. Leaf springs crack, bushings wear out, shocks blow - it's just reality. We replace worn parts with heavy-duty aftermarket stuff that'll outlast OEM. Air suspension conversions too if you're into that. For brakes, we don't mess around - new rotors, pads, calipers, lines, whatever's needed. We also upgrade to slotted or drilled rotors for better heat dissipation if you're hauling heavy or doing performance work. Air brake systems on bigger rigs - lines, chambers, valves, the whole deal. Brakes either work or they don't, there's no in-between.
Making sense of check engine lights
Modern diesels are basically computers with cylinders attached. When that check engine light comes on, you need proper scan tools and someone who knows how to read the data. We've got diagnostic equipment for Cummins, Duramax, Power Stroke, and most commercial diesel platforms. DPF problems, DEF system issues, injector faults, turbo wastegate codes - we've seen it all. Beyond fixing problems, we also do ECM tuning for better fuel economy or more power (your choice, really). Delete work too where it's legal and makes sense. We'll explain what's happening in plain English, not tech-speak.
Bring your truck by and we'll figure it out together. Sometimes the problem ain't what you think it is, and we'd rather diagnose it right the first time. Coffee's always on, and we don't charge just to look at your rig and give you an honest opinion.
No appointment needed for a quick look. For bigger jobs we'll schedule ya in.
We'll tell you what needs doing and what it'll cost. No hidden fees, no surprises.
We work until it's fixed properly. Updates along the way if we find anything else.
